It’s late now. I didn’t post today, yet. This post may not be good, not even interesting nor do I expect it to be. This is just a random post about why I didn’t post today even though after a lot of struggle I had a good article at hand. The only reason is because I was under certain restrictions which, despite my blatant blaming nature, stopped me from clicking on ‘Publish’.
The day started normally and I had a writer’s block and I knew that this would cause trouble because I had to get an article here by evening. That is what happens when you get a writer’s block, you have a thousand ideas but no words. This block has occurred to me many a times since I started blogging but today’s was one of the most extreme ones. I couldn’t get an idea even if I banged my head which I didn’t do due to the little mild headache I already had today. I pulled my hair once, though, nothing changed. I even read my post about Writer’s Block to get some ideas and the result was null.
Then, suddenly, with a ray of hope I began writing about something that happened at school this week and I wrote a pretty decent piece without disclosing any names and without even making it sound too extreme but writing doesn’t work like minimalism I suppose, the more you take away the worse your write-up gets, so I stopped editing it to sound a little mild and with a little sentence that actually made me realize that I was jumping into a portal to null void. “Don’t do it”, he said, “Don’t do something so extreme that it gets you rusticated.” This particular sentence brought a little sense back into this desperate head of mine and I didn’t save the draft, voided the piece and now I have no memory of that post.
This is when I noticed that our so-called ‘Freedom of Speech’ is so restricted because even though the Constitution provides us with these but still nobody cares and with human beings housing all the negative emotions known on Earth, who knows, what might get you into trouble? Here, I would quote, Julian Assange (Benedict Cumberbatch) from the upcoming movie, The Fifth Estate’s trailer,
“Man is least himself when he talks in his own person, but if you give him a mask, he will tell you the truth.”
So, without further ado, a very good night to you and thank you for reading this summary of ‘why there wasn’t a good article here today’
